Overview
We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Bar Person. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a lively hospitality environment, delivering exceptional guest experiences. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service on the bar and occasionally supporting food and beverage operations. Ensuring the smooth running of the establishment. Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant/bar settings is preferred, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally valued.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring bar is managed effectively
- Checking in our guests for the hotel to ensure a warm welcome and a great stay
- Ensuring FOH / Bar area is kept to high standard (deep cleaning, ordering, deliveries)
- Take orders from guests accurately and efficiently, ensuring prompt service
- Serve food and beverages in accordance with health and safety standards on occasion
- Maintain a welcoming atmosphere by engaging with guests courteously and professionally
- Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities while providing honest recommendations
- Manage cash register transactions accurately, including processing payments and giving change
- Restock supplies regularly for the bar
- Collaborate with team members to deliver seamless guest services during busy periods
- Demonstrate effective time management to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Able to adapt to hours to the needs of the business
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality or bar/ restaurant service is advantageous but not essential; a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are key
- Knowledge of bar process and procedures
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent guest service skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
- Basic maths skills for handling payments accurately
- Experience with upselling menu / drink items to enhance guest satisfaction and sales performance
- Ability to work well within a team and adapt to changing priorities
- Training system is available on site
