This role is based mainly within the courier, transport and logistics industry.
You will be working around vans, lorries, drivers, deliveries, collections, transport clients, same-day courier jobs, paperwork, customer communication, sales outreach and operational coordination.
This is not a standard office admin role and it is not only a marketing role. You must be comfortable speaking with drivers, clients, business owners and potential customers, both over the phone and in person.

We are now looking for a sharp, motivated and reliable individual to work directly alongside the Business Development Executive and Head of Operations, helping manage and grow our expanding courier and business portfolio.
The Role
This is a hands-on role across transport operations, business development, marketing and client support.
You will help keep daily operations organised, support drivers and clients, assist with sales and lead generation, create marketing content, and visit potential clients when required.
You will be both office-based and field-active, helping the business run smoothly and grow.

Key ResponsibilitiesCourier Operations & Administration
- Help manage daily courier and logistics paperwork
- Support with driver documents, job sheets, delivery notes and internal records
- Coordinate daily activity between drivers, clients and management
- Prepare emails, reports and internal updates
- Track jobs, performance, leads and client information using spreadsheets and internal systems
- Provide clear daily updates on operations, staff performance and client activity
- Support future planning for transport growth, new clients and contracts
Sales & Business Development
- Make cold calls to potential courier and transport clients
- Follow up with new leads and existing business contacts
- Visit potential clients in person to introduce our courier services
- Help build relationships with businesses that use vans, lorries or regular deliveries
- Support partnership building, client onboarding and deal-making
- Represent the company professionally in meetings, calls and site visits
Marketing & Content
- Create and manage social media content for courier, logistics and service-based businesses
- Help produce posts, reels, adverts and campaign ideas
- Assist with basic graphic design using Canva or similar tools
- Support video content creation and editing
- Bring creative ideas for growing the company brand and attracting new clients
Field Work
- Visit clients, sites, depots and business locations when required
- Carry out checks on standards, service quality and operations
- Support B2B outreach, including door-to-door visits to businesses
- Help with client onboarding and contract support in the field
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is confident, practical and willing to learn the courier and transport industry.
You must be comfortable dealing with:
- Drivers
- Vans and lorries
- Business clients
- Delivery and collection jobs
- Phone calls and cold calls

- Field visits and client meetings
Requirements
- Full UK clean driving licence, essential
- Own car preferred, although company vehicles and fuel may be provided when required
- Ability to commute to Derby or relocate
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
- Good phone, email and in-person communication skills
- Confidence speaking with business owners, clients and drivers
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organisation skills and attention to detail
- Social media, graphic design, video editing or Canva skills are highly desirable
- Previous experience in courier, logistics, sales, marketing or operations is helpful, but not essential
Pay & Progression
- Starting from £12.71 per hour, depending on experience
