Global Language Services Ltd is a leading provider of translation and interpreting services, delivering high-quality language solutions to clients across the public and private sectors. Due to continued growth, we are delighted to invite applications for the role of Translation Project Manager within our busy and dynamic Translations Department based in Glasgow.
This is a full-time, office-based position, working Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00. We offer a competitive starting salary of £29,000 per annum, which will be reviewed after six months. The successful candidate will be subject to a three-month probationary period.
We are looking for a motivated, hardworking and highly organised individual with exceptional attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Applicants should be confident users of the Microsoft Office Suite and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Candidates will be able to work well under pressure, multitasking seamlessly without ever compromising on quality. Previous experience within the translation or localisation industry, as well as additional language skills, would be a distinct advantage.
As a Translation Project Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating and overseeing translation projects from initial enquiry through to final delivery. Acting as the central point of contact for clients, linguists and internal teams, you will ensure that every project is delivered on time, within budget and to the highest professional standards.
- Managing multiple translation projects simultaneously, including planning, scheduling, budgeting and monitoring progress against deadlines
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and freelance linguists
- Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, preparing quotations, clarifying project requirements and providing regular progress updates
- Selecting and assigning suitably qualified translators, proofreaders, post-editors, transcribers and typesetters according to project specifications
- Overseeing the quality assurance process and ensuring all translations meet our exacting standards, including proofreading English-language versions
- Identifying and resolving issues or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle, ensuring minimal disruption and successful project outcomes
- Maintaining accurate project records and ensuring compliance with company procedures and quality standards
