Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated MOT Tester to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections in accordance with industry standards and legal requirements. Responsibilities
- Conduct MOT tests on a wide range of vehicles in compliance with legal and safety standards
- Perform routine vehicle inspections, identifying any defects or issues that may affect safety or roadworthiness
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised testing equipment accurately and efficiently
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections and tests carried out
- Ensure all work is completed within specified timeframes while adhering to health and safety regulations
- Assist with general vehicle maintenance tasks as required
- Keep the testing bay clean, organised, and compliant with industry standards
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and components
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicles or equipment
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure thorough inspections and accurate reporting
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Previous experience as an MOT tester or in automotive diagnostics is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided for the right candidate
