Purpose of the Role
As the Concierge / Door Host, you will be the first point of contact for customers visiting our store. Your role is to create an exceptional first impression by warmly welcoming visitors, engaging with customers, promoting the unique Scottish heritage of our brand, and directing customers into the store.
You will play a key role in increasing customer footfall, enhancing the shopping experience, and supporting the sales team by encouraging customers to explore our extensive range of Scottish gifts, cashmere, Harris Tweed and souvenir products.
As an ambassador for the business, you will wear a traditional Scottish outfit, provided and funded by the Company, to help create a memorable and authentic customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome every customer with a warm, friendly and enthusiastic approach.
- Proactively engage with passers-by to encourage them to enter the store.
- Create a positive and memorable first impression of the business.
- Promote current offers, seasonal promotions and featured products.
- Direct customers to relevant departments or products based on their interests.
- Assist with queue management during busy trading periods.
- Help maintain a safe, welcoming and professional store entrance.
- Ensure the front of the store remains clean, tidy and inviting.
- Act as a brand ambassador by demonstrating professionalism and enthusiasm at all times.
- Wear the Company-provided traditional Scottish outfit and present a smart, well-groomed appearance throughout each shift.
- Represent the business in a positive manner and contribute to creating an enjoyable shopping atmosphere.

- Previous experience in retail, hospitality, tourism or customer service.
- Knowledge of Scottish culture, heritage or tourist attractions.
- Ability to speak additional languages.

Working Conditions
- The role involves standing for extended periods.
- Weekend and public holiday working will be required.
- Outdoor working at the store entrance may be required in varying weather conditions.
- A full traditional Scottish outfit will be provided and must be worn during working hours in accordance with Company standards.

Pay: £25,420.00-£29,120.00 per year
