Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during service, ensuring smooth operation and timely delivery of dishes
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
- Manage food preparation activities, including cooking, plating, and garnishing dishes to meet high standards
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety protocols and cleanliness standards
- Monitor inventory levels; assist with ordering supplies and managing stock to minimise waste
- Support training programmes for junior kitchen staff to develop skills and maintain team cohesion
- Maintain a positive working environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment
- Extensive food production knowledge with proficiency in food preparation and cooking techniques
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse culinary team
- Excellent understanding of food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience demonstrating adaptability under pressure
- Leadership qualities with the ability to organise tasks efficiently and delegate responsibilities effectively
- Good communication skills to liaise with front-of-house staff and suppliers as required
- Knowledge of serving procedures and customer service principles within a hospitality setting

Pay: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
