Major Healthcare is recruiting compassionate and reliable Adult Support Workers to support adults with learning disabilities and physical disabilities within a friendly and welcoming day centre in the Tyne & Wear area.
Working primarily Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 5:00pm, you'll help people develop independence, build confidence, enjoy meaningful activities and achieve positive outcomes in a supportive environment.
There may also be opportunities to work additional 12-hour shifts and weekends where required.

What You'll Be Doing
As an Adult Support Worker, you'll:
- Support adults with learning disabilities and physical disabilities within a day service.
- Build positive, respectful relationships with the people you support.
- Encourage independence, confidence and everyday life skills.
- Support a range of meaningful activities both within the service and out in the community.
- Provide emotional support and practical assistance where required.
- Administer medication in line with training and company procedures.
- Support with personal care where required, always promoting dignity and independence.
- Follow Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies where appropriate.
- Work alongside colleagues and other professionals to deliver high-quality, person-centred support.
- Complete accurate records and follow care plans, risk assessments and CQC requirements.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- A minimum of 6 months' paid UK experience supporting adults with learning disabilities or physical disabilities.
- A caring, compassionate and person-centred approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work weekdays, primarily between 9:00am and 5:00pm.
- Enhanced Adult Workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Experience supporting behaviours that may challenge.
- Full UK driving licence.
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
