Job Purpose
We are seeking qualified and compassionate Counselling Therapists, Talking Therapists, or Psychotherapists to join our growing network of freelance professionals. The post holder will be responsible for delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions to clients experiencing a range of emotional and mental health difficulties. Sessions may be provided remotely or in person, depending on client preference and location.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive therapeutic assessments and collaboratively develop tailored treatment plans.
- Deliver 1:1 counselling or psychotherapy sessions (online or face-to-face), applying appropriate therapeutic models.
- Support clients dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, relationship challenges, and other psychological concerns.
- Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records in compliance with GDPR and professional ethical standards.
- Participate in regular clinical supervision and engage in reflective practice to maintain high standards of care.
- Signpost or refer clients to appropriate internal or external services when necessary.
- Deliver culturally sensitive, inclusive care that respects the diverse backgrounds of clients.
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and maintain professional boundaries at all times.
Person SpecificationEssential:
- A recognised qualification in Counselling, Psychotherapy, or Talking Therapy (minimum Level 4 diploma or above).
- Registration or accreditation with a recognised professional body (e.g., BACP, UKCP, NCS, BABCP).
- Minimum of 1 year post-qualification experience delivering therapy.
- Professional indemnity insurance and a valid enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to work independently and manage own caseload effectively.
- Access to a confidential space for delivering remote sessions, if applicable.
- Strong communication, record-keeping, and interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
- Training or certification in CBT, EMDR, ACT, CFT, or trauma-informed modalities.
- Experience supporting clients with complex trauma, neurodiverse conditions, PTSD, or substance misuse.
- Familiarity with supported living, social care, or community mental health settings.
- Multilingual abilities.
- Flexibility to offer evening or weekend sessions.
