Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager for a maternity post within our childcare facility. The successful candidate will support the management team in overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of childcare, and fostering a safe, nurturing environment for children. Responsibilities
- Assist the Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring smooth operational procedures.
- Support staff in delivering high-quality childcare and early childhood education programmes.
- Supervise and motivate team members, providing guidance and leadership to ensure compliance with policies and standards.
- Engage with children to promote their development, wellbeing, and safety through organised activities and personalised care.
- Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding children's progress and nursery activities.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and safeguarding policies.
- Organise staff rotas, oversee attendance, and contribute to staff training sessions.
- Support recruitment processes by participating in interviews and onboarding new team members.
- Assist in managing administrative tasks such as record keeping, planning activities, and reporting.
Skills
- Level 5 CCLD completed or willing to undertake
- Experience within a childcare or nursery setting.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Extensive knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare best practices.
- Experience working with children, particularly in nursery or preschool environments.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively with children, understanding their individual needs.
- Organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Valid driving licence is desirable.
