We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic construction team. Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, implementing cost control measures to stay within budget.
- Manage tendering processes, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Conduct regular financial reporting and analysis to identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Liaise with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to communicate financial status and contractual obligations effectively.
- Oversee procurement activities, ensuring timely acquisition of materials and services at optimal prices.
- Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and quality standards across all financial aspects of projects.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior surveyors and support staff.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a strong emphasis on cost control within the construction or civil engineering sectors.
- Relevant professional qualification such as MRICS or equivalent recognised chartered status.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Effective communication skills to liaise confidently with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and manage contractual relationships.
- A proactive approach with keen attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
