Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and caring Nursery Assistant to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidate must 18 years old +, will support the development and well-being of young children within a nurturing environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about working with children and committed to fostering a positive learning atmosphere. The Nursery Assistant will work closely with management and leadership teams to ensure high standards of childcare and education are maintained.
Duties
- Assist in the daily care and supervision of children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Support the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
- Maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating nursery environment
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to provide updates on children's progress and needs
- Help manage behavioural issues with patience and professionalism, encouraging positive behaviour
- Support management in adhering to health and safety regulations within the nursery setting
- Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping, attendance, and activity documentation
- Occasionally support transportation needs by driving when required, ensuring safe travel arrangements for children
Experience
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices, desirable but not compulsory
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Experience in childcare management or supervisory roles is advantageous
- Experience working with diverse groups of children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and organisational skills
