Watch Repair Technician – Quartz & Production Repairs
Repairs by Post – Altrincham, Greater Manchester
Full-time | Permanent | On-site
Salary dependent on experience
Help us build a better watch repair workshop
Repairs by Post is developing a modern production workshop in Altrincham, built around quality, consistency and efficient customer service.
We are looking for an experienced Watch Repair Technician who takes pride in practical repair work, works well with others and wants to help shape a growing workshop.
This is not a traditional watchmaker position focused mainly on prestige mechanical servicing.
Our workshop handles a high volume of customer watches. The role will primarily involve quartz repairs, movement exchanges, battery replacements, component replacement, resealing, pressure testing and final quality control.
The work may sometimes be repetitive, but it matters. Every watch belongs to a customer who expects it to be handled carefully, repaired properly and returned without unnecessary delay.
What you will do
- Diagnose and repair quartz wristwatches.
- Replace batteries, movements, coils, circuits, stems and related components.
- Carry out resealing and water-resistance testing.
- Use battery testers, quartz analysers and pressure-testing equipment.
- Complete repairs accurately within agreed timescales.
- Record repairs and parts used correctly.
- Carry out final quality checks.
- Work with the administration team to keep repairs moving.
- Follow agreed workshop procedures and quality standards.
- Help improve workflow, efficiency and consistency.
The person matters as much as the technical ability
We are looking for someone who:
- Has professional wristwatch-repair experience.
- Takes everyday quartz repairs seriously.
- Works efficiently without compromising quality.
- Accepts feedback and quality checks professionally.
- Follows organised processes.
- Communicates clearly with colleagues.
- Shares knowledge and supports the wider team.
- Takes ownership when something goes wrong.
- Wants to grow with the workshop.
This role will not suit someone seeking only high-end mechanical servicing or completely independent bench work.
We need a technician who understands that successful production repair depends on teamwork, consistency and completing commercially viable repairs properly.
What we offer
- A permanent position in a growing specialist business.
- Consistent repair volumes.
- Modern equipment and organised workflows.
- Support from administration and customer-service colleagues.
- The opportunity to influence how the workshop develops.
- Company pension.
- Scope for increased responsibility as the operation grows.

Please tell us:
- Your current watch-repair experience.
- The types of repairs you most enjoy.
- Why this opportunity interests you.
A simple phone recording is sufficient. The video is optional and does not replace your CV or practical assessment.
We are looking for a capable technician without the ego—someone who values quality, teamwork and getting the job done properly.
