GRP / Fibreglass Technician

About Us
Vision Tech Automotive designs and manufactures high-quality campervan elevating roofs and composite products for the automotive industry. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a skilled and motivated GRP / Fibreglass Technician to join our manufacturing team.
This is a varied, hands-on role involving fibreglass lay-up, mould preparation, mould manufacture, repairs and general composite production.
The Role
Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Fibreglass lay-up of GRP components using production moulds.
- Preparing moulds, including waxing, release agents and gel coating.
- Laminating components using chopped strand mat, woven cloth and resin systems.
- Trimming, finishing and inspecting completed parts.
- Manufacturing and repairing GRP moulds.
- Carrying out repairs and modifications to existing moulds and products.
- Working with fillers, adhesives and composite materials.
- Supporting new product development and prototype builds.
- Maintaining tools, moulds and equipment.
- Following quality standards and safe working practices.
- Assisting with general composite and manufacturing duties throughout the factory as required.
About You
Ideally you'll have experience in one or more of the following:
- GRP/Fibreglass laminating.
- Composite manufacturing.
- Mould making and mould maintenance.
- Gel coating and finishing.
- Automotive, marine, motorsport or aerospace composites.
You'll also be:
- Practical and hands-on.
- Able to read drawings and follow manufacturing processes.
- Quality-focused with excellent attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- A strong team player with a positive attitude.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools.
A full UK driving licence and own transport are advantageous due to our rural location.
Desirable Skills
- Vacuum bagging or resin infusion experience.
- Composite repairs.
- Spray gel coat experience.
- CNC trimming or woodworking experience.
- General workshop fabrication skills.
