Reporting to the NHFM CFO and Board, the post holder provides strategic and operational leadership for capital project management in an advisory services team responsible for delivering multiple complex healthcare design and construction projects.
The role carries accountability for the successful delivery of projects across the full lifecycle, ensuring services meet organisational objectives, contractual commitments, quality standards and regulatory requirements. This includes managing significant budgets and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, workforce leadership, staff development and the effective management of resources.
Identifying opportunities to expand services and secure new business across the healthcare sector is a key feature of the role. They will lead, develop and grow the project management and advisory services function, ensuring high levels of performance, financial sustainability, governance and compliance.
Working collaboratively across organisational boundaries, the role acts as a trusted advisor and senior representative of NHFM, promoting innovation, continuous improvement and excellence in service delivery. As a senior member of the NHFM extended leadership team, the post holder contributes to the overall management and strategic direction of the organisation, supporting the development and implementation of Board-approved strategies and operational plans.
Reporting to the NHFM CFO / Board, you will be accountable for a regional team ProjectManaging healthcare design and construction projects through the whole project lifecycle withvalues from £1m to £200m. As a senior member of the NHFM management team, you will beresponsible for managing existing client relationships while developing further businessopportunities across the region, managing and delivering planned revenue / capital budgets aswell as developing, leading, and growing the regional Project Management Team.
The role requires contributing to and ensuring the delivery of strategic and operational serviceobjectives set by the NHFM Board and the Executive.
The role will form a key part of the NHFM Extended Leadership Team and will work closely withDeputy Directors and Managing Director colleagues to contribute to the overall management of thebusiness and the services it provides.
Direct responsibility for the Advisory Service which will be required toprovide capital project services to the Trust.
The post holder will also be expected to work closely with the relevant Executive Director andBusiness Unit Director in the Trust who will act as client. Similar relationships will also be requiredwith third party, external contracts where the post holder will be expected to represent the leadershipteam of NHFM.

Directly control and manage pay and non-pay budgets across the Service ensuring that all budgets are kept within the financial limits set and value for money is obtained throughout.
Budgets typically c. £100m with individual projects ranging from £100k to £75m.
Actively identify and action opportunities for business growth in the region and contribute to the growth and leadership of the wider business and supporting operational strategies.
Direct line management of various construction professionals. The post holder will be required to grow and lead a multi-disciplinary team capable of providing the services required of the Advisory (Project Management, Cost Management etc.
Effectively leads multiple complex projects from inception to completion and delivers high quality services and deliverables that meet our client’s and company objectives, through collaboration, communication, overcoming challenges, creating drive and momentum within the projects team.
Is a key advocate for NHFM Advisory leading the region by example, using a wide range of leadership skills and knowledge to build trust, confidence, and collaboration with and between teams and stakeholders to develop, grow and maintain excellent relationships that deliver repeat business.
Actively shares expert knowledge to develop team members competencies and lead on learning and development across the division.
Administrates projects in accordance with the construction contract and manages resources, project fees and expenses to achieve business targets / KPI’s.
Communicates project objectives to their team, implements achievable timescales, and monitors/mentors the progress of each team member. Accurately and efficiently predicting and managing resourcing requirements/plans.
Professionally communicate in complex situations and take full leadership responsibility for stakeholder engagement. Providing updates, feedback, reports or documents that communicate the desired information accurately and professionally.
Competently manage the full range of NHFM people management practices required to uphold and develop the company culture, achieve legal compliance, develop their team, meet stakeholder needs, drive business growth, and increase the company’s resilience.
Effectively lead complex projects, identifying risks, negotiating, collaborating, and managing any conflict professionally with internal and external stakeholders, while also driving and sustaining momentum within the projects team.
Continually identify and action opportunities for growth in the region and ensure projects remain high quality, compliant and on track.
Able to apply their knowledge and experience in quality management, governance, and system management in healthcare to provide advice, guidance and support to internal team members and external stakeholders.
Able to suggest strategies to continually evolve standards of quality in line with changes in the industry.
Utilises I.T. equipment and systems to create and store documents and information, accurately, efficiently, compliantly and in line with NHFM procedures.
Actively promotes and manages sustainability strategies within the company.
