Unqualified Teaching Assistant – SEND Secondary Kirkbymoorside| Full-Time_ | Start: September
We are looking for a committed and compassionate Unqualified Teaching Assistants to support students within a specialist hub for learners with additional learning needs. This full-time role offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a nurturing and inclusive environment that values respect, individual development, and community support.
Working across a range of year groups, you will play a vital role in helping students with additional learning needs – particularly those with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, or severe learning difficulties – to engage with their education and achieve personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored 1:1 and small group support for students with additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum effectively.
- Assist teaching staff with lesson delivery, resource preparation, and behaviour support to maintain a respectful and structured classroom environment.
- Promote social and emotional development through patient, consistent interactions and strategies personalised to individual students.
- Observe and track student progress, contributing to educational reviews and feedback cycles.
- Foster independence, confidence, and active participation across all areas of school life.
- Help create and maintain a safe, welcoming learning space, following all safeguarding and health & safety policies.
- Work closely with teachers, families, and external professionals to support the holistic development of every learner.
- Engage in staff development sessions, meetings, and school events that align with the team’s values of continuous growth and collaboration.
