About the Role
We are looking for a friendly, professional and organised Front of House team member to join our busy, modern 13-surgery mixed NHS and private dental practice.
The Front of House team is the first point of contact for our patients and plays an important role in providing a welcoming, efficient and professional patient journey from arrival through to completion of their appointment.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome patients into the practice in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manage patient arrivals, departures and enquiries efficiently.
- Answer telephone calls and respond to patient enquiries with a helpful and professional approach.
- Book, amend and cancel appointments in accordance with practice policies.
- Manage the dental diary effectively and liaise with clinicians and dental nurses.
- Register new patients and ensure all relevant information and forms are completed accurately.
- Process NHS and private patient payments and provide clear information regarding fees and treatment costs.
- Explain NHS charges, private treatment fees, finance options and practice policies clearly to patients.
- Take responsibility for maintaining accurate patient records and updating information on Dentally.
- Contact patients regarding appointments, recalls, outstanding balances and treatment.
- Handle patient concerns professionally and escalate complaints or clinical matters to the appropriate member of the management team.
- Support clinicians and the wider practice team to ensure the surgery diary runs smoothly.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with GDPR, practice policies and relevant dental regulations.
- Assist with general reception administration and maintain a clean, organised and welcoming reception area.
- Provide excellent customer service at all times and contribute to a positive patient experience.
About You

- Confident communicating with patients both face-to-face and over the telephone.
- Comfortable handling payments and discussing fees.
- A good team player who is willing to support colleagues when required.
- Able to multitask and prioritise effectively.
- Computer literate and confident learning practice management systems such as Dentally.
- Experienced in a dental or healthcare reception environment is desirable, but training can be provided for the right candidate.

Pay: £8.00-£12.75 per hour
