Office Administrator / Customer Service Advisor
£26,500 basic + performance bonus (OTE £29,100)
Bonus linked to order dispatch volumes through our warehouse.
We are one of the UK’s leading retailers in flooring and beds, known for delivering quality products alongside a straightforward, customer-first approach. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a confident and capable Customer Service Advisor to join our busy Beds Department.
You’ll be at the heart of the customer journey—supporting customers from the moment they place an order right through to delivery and aftercare. Every day is different, and you’ll be dealing with a wide range of queries, so you’ll need to think on your feet and take ownership.
The role would benefit someone with knowledge of logistics (although not essential) along with the ability to use your own initiative in a fast-paced busy team environment. A competent and efficient telephone manner is key.
This position is based on a 40hr. working week around a rota system including Saturdays.
Responsibilities
· Releasing store orders via our in-house system.
- Making initial contact with new customers via phone / e-mail.
- Purchase ordering.
- Handling telephone calls.
- Building knowledge of all products within our collection in order to correctly advise customers.
- Booking home deliveries direct with customers.
- Handling complaints and queries.
- Opportunity to up-sell customers’ orders.
- Take ownership of any customer issues and concerns.
- Present a positive image of the company and the services we offer at all times.
- Proactively build a rapport with callers to ascertain customer needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Interacting with our franchise network.
Requirements
· Friendly, with a professional personal manner.
· Basic IT skills are necessary and the ability to learn new in-house systems is crucial.
· Professional telephone manner.
· Self-motivated; uses initiative to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Exemplary communication skills.
- Strong objection handling skills.
- Organised and systematic approach to work.
- Maths & English GCSE or equivalent, grade A- C.
