Swn-y-gan is looking for a compassionate and reliable Cook/Chef to join our small, friendly nursing home in Swansea.
This is a part-time position (approx. 30 hours per week, hours to be agreed) within a supportive team focused on delivering high-quality care and excellent home-cooked meals to our residents.
We are seeking someone who has a genuine passion for cooking and takes pride in preparing hearty, nutritious, home-style meals that bring comfort and enjoyment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Preparing and cooking fresh, nutritious meals in line with a set menu
Input with menu choices
Providing daily tea and dessert service
Baking cakes and treats
Supporting with general kitchen duties and food preparation
Managing stock control, rotation, and food safety records
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen
What We’re Looking For:
Experience as a cook or chef(care home experience desirable)
Passion for quality food and home cooking
Good understanding of food hygiene and safety
Reliable, organised, and able to work as part of a team
Understanding of working in a care environment is an advantage
Requirements:
DBS check (required)
