We are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to join the team at Chestnut Lodge.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse and natural leader who is passionate about delivering outstanding nursing care and making a genuine difference to the lives of our residents.
You will work closely with the Registered Manager and the wider care team, providing strong clinical leadership, supporting and mentoring colleagues, and ensuring that residents receive the highest standards of care, dignity, choice and independence.

About You
We are looking for someone who is confident, compassionate and highly organised, with strong clinical knowledge and leadership experience.
You will be:
- A Registered Nurse with a valid NMC PIN.
- A natural leader who can share clinical knowledge, lead and mentor an established team, delegate effectively and promote excellent customer service.
- Passionate about providing nursing care that enhances residents' quality of life.
- Committed to promoting independence, choice and dignity.
- Experienced within a nursing or care home setting for older people.
- Knowledgeable about CQC regulations, legislation, tissue viability, infection control and care planning.
- An excellent communicator who can build strong, honest and professional relationships with residents and their families.
- Able to recognise the importance of the whole care home team in meeting residents' needs and wishes.
- Highly organised, with excellent time-management skills and able to prioritise effectively.
- Confident undertaking initial assessments of new residents and working collaboratively with residents, families, friends and advocates.
- Able to develop and maintain positive relationships with external healthcare professionals and agencies.
- A positive role model who ensures accountability and effective communication of residents' care is maintained consistently throughout the 24-hour care period.
- A driver with a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Ideally, You Will Also Have
- Previous experience in a leadership or management role.
- Experience using PCS care plans and Atlas eMAR.
- Experience working within a service that has achieved the Gold Standards Framework.
- Expert knowledge in a relevant area of care.
- A Level 5 Diploma/NVQ in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
The Role
The role is primarily Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm, although some out-of-hours working, occasional night visits and weekend work may be required, as well as participation in the on-call rota.
As Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day management of Chestnut Lodge, providing clinical leadership and ensuring that our residents receive safe, compassionate and person-centred care.
You will work in partnership with the Registered Manager, care team, residents, families and external professionals to maintain high standards of care and continue developing the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support and mentor the care team.
- Promote excellent standards of nursing and person-centred care.
- Support effective care planning, assessment and review.
Salary: £52,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time | Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm Contract: Permanent
