HGV Technician
£20 per hour + Bonuses

Hours: 40 hours per week (between 6am – 6pm)
Pay Rate: £20 per hour
The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established fleet company within the waste management and recycling sector for an experienced HGV Technician to join their busy Fleet Workshop in Leicester.
This is a permanent opportunity offering stability, performance-related bonuses, and long-term career development. The business operates a fleet of over 20 vehicles, providing a varied and hands-on working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out inspections, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs, trailers, and associated mechanical equipment
- Complete scheduled servicing and pre-MOT inspections in line with DVSA and operator licence requirements
- Diagnose faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques
- Maintain workshop equipment and ensure correct storage of tools and materials in line with COSHH regulations
- Accurately complete all service and repair documentation
- Comply with all health & safety regulations and safe systems of work
- Take responsibility for workshop security, tools, and equipment
Essential:
- Apprenticeship trained with City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or IMI Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
- Experience within a fleet workshop, dealership, or VMU environment
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
- HGV licence
- IRTEC qualification
