We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of motor vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and quality standards. Station garage, a leading motor vehicle retailer in the North East, is known for our commitment to excellence and a supportive team environment. You will be working in a recently refurbished, air conditioned / heated workshop where no heavy/ engine work will be undertaken.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough diagnostics using schematics and technical manuals to identify vehicle issues.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on motor vehicles, including engine work, brake repairs, suspension servicing, and electrical system troubleshooting.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to carry out assembly, repair, and maintenance tasks efficiently.
- Interpret technical drawings and schematics to ensure accurate repairs and modifications.
- Assist with the installation of new components and equipment within vehicles.
- Maintain detailed records of all work performed in accordance with company procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair processes clearly and professionally.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician or similar role within the automotive industry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical diagrams accurately.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialised automotive repair tools.
- Experience with vehicle assembly, maintenance, and equipment repair is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional approach when interacting with clients.
