Job Overview
Tiptree Patisserie is seeking a full-time Lead Machine Operator to join our team in Witham. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a busy food production environment, supporting the efficient and safe operation of equipment used in the manufacture of high-quality bakery and patisserie products. Tiptree Patisserie is a wholesale bakery and patisserie based in Witham and is part of the wider Wilkin & Sons group.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate and monitor a variety of production equipment to ensure smooth and efficient running of the production line.
- Carry out routine checks to maintain product quality, consistency and food safety standards.
- Support line changeovers, machine adjustments and basic fault finding where required.
- Work closely with production colleagues to meet daily output targets and minimise downtime.
- Complete relevant production records accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, hygiene and health and safety at all times.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimise production efficiency on the OEE of production.
- Report equipment issues, product concerns or safety risks promptly to the relevant supervisor or manager.
Skills
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, food production or machine operating environment would be advantageous.
- A practical and hands-on approach, with good attention to detail.
- The ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- A strong awareness of health, safety and hygiene standards.
- Good timekeeping, reliability and a positive attitude to work.
- A willingness to learn new processes and adapt to business needs.
Qualifications:
Essential: HAACP Level 2 and Food Safety Level 2 or equivalent qualifications
