Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. Duties
- Assist with meal preparation and food presentation under the supervision of the head chef or senior kitchen staff
- Support food safety protocols by maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including peeling, chopping, and measuring items as required
- Help with the organisation and storage of supplies, ensuring all ingredients are correctly labelled and stored at appropriate temperatures
- Assist in serving meals to customers or guests in accordance with established procedures
- Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces regularly to uphold health and safety standards
- Support catering events by setting up tables, serving food, and clearing away after service
- Follow all health and safety regulations diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all staff
Experience
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and basic culinary skills is advantageous
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices within a professional kitchen setting is preferred
- Experience in meal preparation and food service roles will be considered an asset
- A proactive attitude towards learning new skills and working efficiently within a team environment is essential
