Platt and Hill Limited of Oldham are currently looking for a full time production worker to work in our Cushion Department.
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Cushion Filling Operative to join our factory production team. This is a fast paced, hands-on role involving the continuous filling of full sized settee cushions used in upholstered furniture.
Please note that these are large substantial cushions and the role involves regular manual handling.
Key responsibilities:
- Operate the fibre filling unit safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures.
- Prepare fibre for filling by rolling and weighing, continuously, and maintain the required production pace.
- Push fibre through the filling unit to ensure a continuous and consistent supply.
- Fill sofa and settee seat and back cushions to the specified weight and quality standard.
- Check cushion weights regularly to ensure they remain within the required tolerance levels.
- Report any equipment faults, quality concerns, or production issues to the Supervisor.
- Maintain production targets while ensuring high standards of quality.
- Work closely with team members to ensure the filling process runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Follow all manual handling and health and safety procedures when handling fibre and operating machinery.
- Keep the work area clean, tidy, and organised.
- Assist with other production duties as required.

Previous experience working in a factory environment would be an advantage, but not essential as full training will be given.
Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 7.45am – 4.45pm, Friday 7.45am to 12.45pm
