We are seeking to appoint an Inclusion Teacher to work within our Inclusion Centre, The Bridge, at The Portsmouth Academy from September 2026.
You will be joining a dedicated and supportive team who strive to make a difference in the outcomes for our students with Educational Health and Care Plans. The Inclusion Teacher will be supported by a committed team of Student Engagement Workers across 2 classes.
The Bridge at The Portsmouth Academy is a specialist centre for children with complex Cognition and Learning difficulties aged between eleven and sixteen, who have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Our curriculum centres on each child as an individual, looking at their starting points and next steps.

- Qualified Teacher Status
- Experience teaching within a SEN/Inclusion setting would be advantageous, either in a secondary or upper KS2 setting
- Be passionate about teaching and learning and have a positive outlook and excellent interpersonal skills
- Outstanding classroom practice with high expectations for achievements and behaviour
- Provide a differentiated, balanced, progressive, varied and stimulating curriculum in line with statutory and school requirements while taking into account each pupils’ special educational needs
- You will be dedicated to ensure that all of our children achieve their very best
- An aspiring leader of learning and happy to grasp exciting CPD opportunities
- Contribute to the values, ethos and the development of our school
