PROPERTY MAINTENANCE OPERATIVE | OXFORDSHIRE | £30,000 - £32,000 | MON–FRI + OCCASIONAL OUT-OF-HOURS
A new opportunity has arisen for a talented, self-motivated individual to help maintain and uphold the quality of our properties across Oxfordshire.
You'll be a key part of the OX Living team — the person our tenants rely on, and the one who makes sure our homes stay in the condition we're proud of.
WHO YOU'LL BE WORKING FOR
OX Living is a co-living house share community built exclusively for young professionals across Oxfordshire. Founded in 2016, we specialise in managing high-quality shared houses — and our focus for 2026/27 is to further cement our reputation as Oxfordshire's go-to HMO agent.
We cover the full spectrum of co-living property: from refurbishment and conversion of residential accommodation, to the acquisition and development of larger commercial buildings. Take a look at one of our properties here.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Painting and decorating is your bread and butter — you'll spend the majority of your time finishing rooms to a professional standard across our portfolio. Beyond that, no two days are the same.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Painting and decorating rooms to a professional standard
- Completing scheduled maintenance tasks managed through our property portal
- Carrying out repairs and maintenance identified on-site
- Responding to emergency repairs when needed — including occasional out-of-hours callouts
- Acting as the out-of-hours point of contact for tenants, talking them through issues calmly and clearly
- Delivering and assembling furniture, and repairing fixtures, fittings and appliances
- Investigating appliance faults and determining next steps (e.g. is the washing machine due a service, or just a filter clean?)
- Assisting with light plumbing work and external maintenance
- Managing lockboxes and key cutting
- Attending regular team meetings and maintaining accurate records on our maintenance portal
- Building strong working relationships with our suppliers and contractors
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
This role requires someone who takes real pride in their work and can operate independently — you'll be trusted to manage your own time, prioritise your workload, and represent OX Living professionally at every property you visit.
You'll be a great fit if you are:
- A multi-skilled tradesperson with broad property maintenance experience
- An excellent communicator — with tenants, the property team, and contractors alike
- Highly organised and self-motivated, with a problem-solving mindset
- Knowledgeable of Health & Safety regulations in a residential setting
- Flexible and calm under pressure — emergency callouts happen, and you'll take them in your stride
- A confident driver with a good knowledge of Oxfordshire
- In possession of a full, clean driving licence (a company vehicle will be provided)
- Comfortable holding the out-of-hours phone on a rota basis
