SKILLED GROUNDWORKER – Road Formation
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking experienced Skilled Groundworkers specialising in road formation for ongoing works on our Sittingbourne site. The role will involve carrying out road formation works, including sub-base preparation and surfacing support, ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard of safety, quality, and productivity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carrying out road formation works in line with site specifications
Preparing sub-base layers, including grading, levelling, and compaction
Supporting laying of kerbs, edgings, and surfacing preparation
Completing repairs and associated groundwork related to road formation
Undertaking remedial works and making good following excavation and utility works
Working safely around excavations and live services in accordance with site procedures
Supporting plant operators and site teams to maintain safe and efficient working practices
Using hand tools and small plant safely and effectively
Following drawings, instructions, and site specifications
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area at all times
Adhering to all health & safety procedures and reporting hazards promptly
REQUIREMENTS
Proven experience in road formation works
Valid CSCS Card
Strong awareness of site health & safety procedures
Experience working around excavations and underground services
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a site team
Right to work in the UK
DESIRABLE
Experience working within road formation environments, including deep excavations and groundwork operations
Understanding of safe access and egress in road construction activities
Safety Critical Medical (site dependent)
