We are looking for a qualified level 3 practitioner to join a small working team in our family run nursery. This person must have a passion for childcare and education.

Job Title: Childcare Practitioner
Main objectives of the post holder: To meet the needs of the children in terms of care, learning and play.
Main activities of the post holder:
· To meet the needs of the children, to play, talk and listen to them and interact in a positive way at all times.
· To meet the needs of the children in relation to welfare, hygiene, toileting, dressing and feeding.
· To be familiar with the content of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
· To be responsible for the organisation, resourcing and planning of two areas of provision. Contributions to be made to each planning meeting.
· To participate in the planning of future activities at planning meetings.
· To observe key children, assess their needs in term of care, learning and play and pass on information gained at weekly planning meetings.
· To maintain appropriate children’s records of achievement.
· To work within settings policies and procedures.
· To attend staff meetings and training as advised by the manager.
· To liaise with parents about children’s general progress.
· To take care for their own and other peoples health and safety. To ensure good standards of hygiene, cleanliness and tidiness at all times.
· To advise the manager of any concerns over practice.

Desirable criteria
1. NVQ childcare Level 2/3
2. Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
