MAGDALENE:CC SCIO is seeking a Senior Playworker / Lead Practitioner to support the delivery of New The Daily Project after school club. This role supports the Daily Project Manager and involves leading high-quality, child-centred play, maintaining safety, and building strong relationships with children and families.

Responsibilities include:
- Daily operation of the after-school club
- Supervising and supporting playworkers and relief staff
- Ensuring compliance with Care Inspectorate regulations
- Planning high-quality, child-led play experiences
- Promoting children’s rights and participation
- Maintaining all required records and documentation
- Leading reflective practice and continuous improvement
This is a hands-on leadership role working directly with children while also managing service quality, staff and compliance.

Job Description & Person Specification
JOB PURPOSE
To assist the Daily Project Manager in delivering high-quality, child-centred out-of-school care aligned with the Care Inspectorate, SSSC, GIRFEC and organisational policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Manager with daily operations of sessions
- Lead shifts when required
- Deliver inclusive, engaging, child-led play opportunities
- Support children’s wellbeing using GIRFEC
- Maintain registers, incident logs, activity records
- Support staff, volunteers and students
- Build positive relationships with parents/carers
- Uphold safeguarding policies
- picking and and driving children to the setting
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential:
- SCQF Level 7 Childhood Practice qualification or equivalent (SVQ level 3)
- 3+ years in childcare/OSC
- 1+ years Supervisory experience
- Knowledge of SSSC Codes, HSCS, CI, GIRFEC, UNCRC
- PVG membership (willingness to join)
Essential Requirements
- SCQF Level 7 qualification in children and young people or equivalent (SVQ level 3)
- Relevant childcare/OSC experience
- Knowledge of play work principles and OSC practice
- Experience supporting children with ASN
- PVG membership / willingness to join
- Ability to register with SSSC (Practitioner)
- Driving License
Desirable
- First Aid, Food Hygiene, or Child Protection training
- Experience in out-of-school care/childcare

Training opportunities will be available and provided during employment
