Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health & Safety Manager to support our organization’s health and safety initiatives. In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs that promote a secure and compliant work environment. You will have worked on sites within UK and be familiar with the requirements of Clients such as NG, Cadent and SGN. Your expertise will ensure that all team members understand safety protocols, adhere to regulations, and foster a culture of continuous safety improvement. Responsibilities
- Responsible to Group HSE Manager
- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies aligned with local regulations and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all facilities to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead incident investigations by performing root cause analysis to determine underlying issues and prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate emergency response procedures, including first aid protocols, fire drills, and evacuation plans.
- Provide training sessions on safety procedures, proper equipment use, and emergency response techniques to staff at all levels.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, incidents, and compliance status for management review.
- Foster a culture of safety awareness through ongoing communication, engagement initiatives, and recognition programs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in health and safety management within a dynamic work environment.
- Certification in first aid is required; additional certifications such as NEBOSH or OSHA are advantageous.
- Strong report writing skills with the ability to document incidents accurately and clearly.
- Expertise in root cause analysis techniques to identify underlying issues behind safety incidents.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively train staff and collaborate with management teams.
- Ability to interpret safety regulations and ensure organizational compliance at all times.
