Workshop Collection & Delivery Driver – Exeter
Overview
We're looking for a Workshop Collection & Delivery Driver to join a busy commercial vehicle workshop in Exeter. You'll be collecting and delivering LCVs and HGVs to customers locally, moving vehicles around the yard, and presenting vehicles for MOT. If you've got a HGV licence (or want one) and you're reliable, this is the one.
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 16:30 (1-hour unpaid lunch)
Option for 30-minute lunch to finish at 16:00 (manager's discretion)
40 hours per week
Full time, permanent
Earning Potential – Salary:
£30,000 per annum (with HGV licence)
£28,430 per annum (without HGV licence – training provided)
Overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate
Key Responsibilities
- Collecting and delivering customer vehicles in a timely and courteous manner
- Liaising with customers and the service reception team to coordinate movements
- Presenting vehicles for MOT inspection
- Supporting technicians by road testing vehicles following repair
- Moving vehicles within the yard and organising on-site parking
- Carrying out weekly checks on company courtesy vehicles
- Assisting with general cleanliness of vehicles before customer collection
- Acting as Health & Safety representative for the workshop – reporting any issues monthly
- Adhering to all road rules and company policies
What You'll Need
- HGV Class 1 licence (preferred – training available if not)
- Experience of HGV driving (preferred)
- Customer service experience (preferred)
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Motor vehicle repair experience (advantageous)
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
