Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter & Decorator to join our team. On a Self employed basis. We work on behalf on managing agents throughout London and surrounding areas on a mixture of small and large jobs. So travel to different sites is essential. Vehicle requirements will be discussed upon interview.
The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, wallpaper, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high standards of quality and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for craftsmanship and attention to detail to contribute to diverse projects across residential and commercial properties throughout central London and surrounding areas.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling imperfections prior to painting or decorating
- Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- The ability to plasterboard and tape, fill and finish to a high standard
- Ensure all work is completed to specified standards and within designated timeframes
- Protect surrounding areas by covering furniture, floors, and fixtures during work
- Mix paints and colours as required to achieve desired finishes
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and requirements
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations on site
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction painting and decorating
- Valid driving licence is preferred for travelling between sites
- Good command of English language for effective communication
- Strong communication skills to liaise with clients and team members professionally
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality finishes
- Vehicle can be provided
