Assistant General Manager required for innovative Hospitality Concept.
The Royal Bell is a Grade 2 listed building re imagined as a five-storey, design lead leisure destination offering elevated service and culinary excellence across multiple pieces including;
· Private members club
· Bar and grill
· Pizza restaurant
· Cafe
· Royal Hall grand ballroom
· Expansive garden and members terrace,
· Event spaces and 14 hotel rooms.

Reporting to our General Manager the Assistant General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire operation at The Royal Bell, ensuring that every member guest through our building receives world-class service while meeting financial, health and safety, and licensing requirements.
As our Assistant General Manager you will lead multiple teams, ensuring operational excellence, high service standards, and an exceptional guest experience and deputize for the GM on days off ensuring there is always a senior presence in the building.
You’ll lead by example, jump in wherever needed, and bring high energy, organization, and warmth across our spaces.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in the day-to-day leadership of the entire venue, ensuring consistently high operational standards across all departments.
- Lead, motivate and develop front of house management and team members, creating a positive, high-performance culture.
- Take full responsibility for the venue in the General Manager's absence, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and confident decision making.
- Drive exceptional guest experiences by maintaining outstanding service standards and resolving guest feedback professionally and proactively.
- Monitor sales performance, labour costs, productivity and departmental KPIs, taking action to maximise profitability.
- Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure food quality, speed of service and consistency are maintained.
- Recruit, train, coach and develop team members, ensuring clear succession planning and strong employee engagement.
- Ensure all Health & Safety, Food Safety, Licensing and company compliance standards are consistently met.
- Support the planning and delivery of weddings, corporate events, private functions and member events alongside the events team.
- Conduct regular floor walks, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and attention to detail throughout the building.
- Build strong relationships with members, hotel guests and local customers, acting as an ambassador for The Royal Bell.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as an Assistant General Manager, or senior hospitality manager within a premium hospitality environment.
- A confident leader who enjoys developing people and getting the very best from their team.
- Commercially aware, with a strong understanding of labour management, budgets, cost control and driving revenue.
- Passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences with a genuine eye for detail.
- Calm under pressure and able to make sound decisions in a busy, fast-paced operation.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple departments and competing demands.
- Hands-on, visible and willing to lead from the front rather than from the office.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with guests, members, suppliers and colleagues at every level.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends and key trading periods as required.
- Personal Licence and First Aid qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
