Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Seasonal Garden Centre Employee to join our team. This role involves assisting customers, maintaining the garden centre displays, and ensuring the smooth operation of the centre during the busy seasonal period. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening and horticulture, excellent communication skills, and a friendly demeanour to enhance the customer experience. This position offers an opportunity to develop your knowledge of plants and gardening products while working in a vibrant retail environment. The post will entail working 5 days a week including weekends.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide expert advice on plants, gardening tools, and accessories
- Assist with the organisation and merchandising of stock to create attractive displays
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the garden centre area
- Support with stock replenishment and inventory management
- Help customers select suitable plants and gardening products based on their needs
- Operate tills accurately and handle transactions efficiently
- Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to at all times
- Support team members in completing daily tasks to ensure a positive shopping experience
Skills
- Knowledge of gardening, horticulture, or related fields is desirable but a willingness to learn is important
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Organised with good organisational skills to manage stock and display layouts effectively
- Strong merchandising skills to create appealing product displays that attract customers
- Ability to work well within a team and independently when required
- Passion for gardening and outdoor environments with a friendly, approachable manner

Pay: £12.21-£13.50 per hour
