D & F McCarthy Ltd, a family-owned and operated business for over 145 years, supplying resellers and caterers daily with quality fresh fruit, vegetables, fine foods, drinks, food service, and prepared produce, with our fleet of modern, refrigerated vehicles from a sector-leading operating centre optimally based just off the A47 in Norwich.
We are now looking for a reliable and professional Class 1 Driver to permanently join our established multi-manned nightly route to New Spitalfields Market, London.
The Role
- Nightly trunk and collection route to New Spitalfields Market, London.
- Multi-manned operation with a regular route and routine.
- Collecting and delivering haulage pallets before collecting our own produce pallets.
- Forklift unloading duties before returning to site.
- Working as part of a professional and friendly transport team.
- Drive in a safe and efficient manner.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Valid class 1 (Category C+E) licence
- Full driver CPC (DQC) qualification card
- Digital tachograph card
- Maximum of 6 penalty points
A minimum of 1 year’s class 1 driving experience preferred. No more than six penalty points a must. Experience of refrigerated vehicles, tachographs, tail-lifts, forklifts and pallet trucks would be advantageous but full training is provided.
What We Offer
- £160 per shift, with annual pay reviews.
- £190 when starting earlier on a Sunday during peak times.
- Typical start time around 4:30pm, but with some flexibility required.
- Average working week in the region of 40-48 hours.
- Sunday to Friday operation.
- Friday/ Sunday night runs solo and alternates between each driver, giving the second driver that night off.
- 28 days annual leave, increasing with service.
