Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Workers/Support Workers to provide exceptional assistance to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting clients with their daily needs, promoting independence, and ensuring their well-being. Experience in senior care, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, hospice care, or child care is highly desirable. Duties
- Assisting clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Supporting with medication administration as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Preparing nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Providing companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Assisting with mobility and transfer activities using proper techniques and equipment
- Managing behaviour effectively and implementing behaviour management strategies
- Driving clients to appointments or outings when necessary
- Maintaining accurate records of care provided and client progress
- Responding promptly to emergency situations with first aid if required
- Supporting clients with activities of daily living to foster independence and dignity
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care is preferred
- Knowledge of patient care practices including dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, and senior care
- Proven ability in caregiving roles involving medication administration and behaviour management
- Experience with meal preparation and heavy lifting tasks is advantageous
- First aid certification is desirable but not essential; training can be provided for the right candidate
- Valid driving licence is beneficial for roles involving client transportation
