Job Summary
Caledonia ELT Recycling Limited are a waste management company specialising in Tyre Recycling. We are seeking a dedicated HGV Class C1 Driver to join our team and assist with our waste tyre collections across mainland Scotland.
The successful candidates will be operating 7.5tn rigid vehicles, be customer facing and will have a proactive approach to safety & service.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Working on your own following a pre-planned route to collect from customer sites including loading and unloading your vehicle.
- Completing the relevant paperwork on collections required by our waste management license.
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, highlighting any defects.
- Adhering to all H&S and SEPA Waste Management License regulations.
- Liaising with office, drivers and yard staff; Communicating effectively regarding any potential delays.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- General housekeeping and Ad-hoc duties when required.
- Uniforms and PPE Provided
Skills and Qualities Required:
- Valid commercial driving licence (C1 or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years HGV driving experience Required
- Full and valid CPC and Digi Card
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Good communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting heavy items.
- Ability to work alone and within a small team when required.
- Due to insurance conditions, we can only accept applications from candidates over 25 years of age.

- Typically operating between 0630-1630
- No weekends
- 20 days annul leave plus public holidays
