Nursery Manager – Lead Something Truly Special
This isn’t just a job. It’s your chance to build something new & remarkable.
Mini Mammoths is a brand-new nursery coming to Craven Arms, taking over the much-loved community centre nursery that has been part of the local community for many years.
Over the following weeks we will be injecting new life into the nursery, creating a fresh, exciting environment for a new generation of children and families.
We want to respect and cherish what has been before, while bringing a new vision, new energy and new opportunities to the setting.
Take a look at our social media to follow our refurbishment journey and see what we’re creating.
Are you ready to step into a role where your ideas matter, your leadership shapes futures, and your passion creates a place where children thrive, families feel at home and your team love coming to work?
We’re not looking for someone simply to run a nursery. We’re looking for someone to lead it.
Someone who wants to create an exceptional place for children and their team to learn, grow and thrive.
What makes this opportunity different?
You’ll be joining Mini Mammoths right at the beginning, as one of our founding team members.
This means you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Shape a truly enriching learning environment.
- Help build and grow an exceptional team.
- Establish the culture and values of the nursery from day one.
- Create memorable experiences for children and families.
- Build strong relationships within the Craven Arms community.
- Bring your own ideas, creativity and personality to the setting.
- Make a genuine impact on the future of the nursery.
- Leave your mark on a setting that wants to be the best in the area.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants to be part of building something, rather than simply stepping into something that already exists.
What you’ll be doing
As our Nursery Manager, you will:
- Lead with vision, warmth and purpose.
- Inspire and develop your team to achieve their very best.
- Champion outstanding care, learning and wellbeing.
- Create an environment where children feel safe, confident, curious and excited to learn.
- Build strong relationships with children, families and the wider community.
- Lead by example and create a positive, supportive team culture.
- Drive quality, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the nursery consistently meets and exceeds EYFS and safeguarding requirements.
- Support staff development, mentoring, supervision and ongoing professional growth.
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the nursery.
- Work closely with the wider nursery group leadership team to develop the nursery and its future.
Who we’re looking for
You’re someone who:
- Has proven experience leading an early years setting, including experience with under 2s.
- Holds a relevant Early Years qualification (Level 3+, EYTS or equivalent).
- Has a strong understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding.
- Is confident leading, motivating and developing a team.
- Believes every child deserves an extraordinary start.
- Brings energy, ideas and genuine passion to everything you do.
- Is proactive, creative and isn't afraid to try new ideas.
- Has high standards and takes pride in the environment and experience you create.
- Builds positive and genuine relationships with families.
- Wants more than “just a job” — you want purpose, impact and growth.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with drive.
Someone who sees an opportunity and thinks, “I can make this amazing.”
What you’ll get in return
- Competitive salary + performance incentives
- Ongoing professional development and leadership support.
- A genuinely supportive and forward-thinking employer.
- The opportunity to lead, shape and influence from day one.
- The chance to build your own team and establish the nursery culture.
- A beautiful, newly refurbished environment.
- A workplace where your voice is heard — and valued.
- The opportunity to make a real difference within the local community.
- A career with an organisation that is passionate about doing things differently.
