We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly respected children's residential care provider for an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a 3-bed Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) home in Milton Keynes.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a provider with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality care and positive outcomes for children and young people. You will be supported by an experienced senior leadership team and will have the opportunity to make a genuine impact while leading a dedicated staff team.
The Role:
As the Registered Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing the day-to-day operation of the 3-bed EBD home, ensuring full compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and Ofsted requirements.
- Creating a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment where children and young people can thrive and achieve positive outcomes.
- Recruiting, leading, mentoring and developing a high-performing staff team through regular supervision, training and performance management.
- Ensuring the home consistently delivers outstanding standards of care, safeguarding and child-centred practice.
- Managing budgets, staffing levels, rotas and the overall performance of the service.
- Building positive relationships with Local Authorities, social workers, education providers, healthcare professionals and families.
- Leading the home through Ofsted inspections, maintaining high standards and implementing continuous service improvements.
- Promoting a positive culture focused on stability, resilience and long-term outcomes for the children in your care.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or be working towards the qualification).
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager or an experienced Deputy Manager ready to step into registration.
- Experience working within children's residential services supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
- Excellent knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, safeguarding legislation and Ofsted expectations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop and retain a successful staff team.
- A child-centred approach with a genuine passion for improving the lives of children and young people.
- Excellent organisational, communication and decision-making skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
