The Opportunity
Integra Boston Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to take a senior position within our growing electrical operations.
We provide specialist Electrical Installation, Compliance and Project Delivery services across industrial, manufacturing, food production and commercial environments.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take complete ownership of electrical projects from initial customer engagement through to final certification and documentation handover.
This is a hands-on leadership position requiring a strong industrial electrical background, commercial awareness and the ability to independently plan, manage and successfully deliver projects.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the complete project lifecycle, including:
- Initial customer meetings, site surveys and scope development.
- Estimating, producing quotations and project costings.
- Planning works and developing project programmes.
- Scheduling and managing electrical engineers.
- Ordering materials, plant and access equipment.
- Preparing and coordinating RAMS and project documentation.
- Managing customers, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Leading projects on site and providing technical support to engineers.
- Monitoring labour, materials, project costs and profitability.
- Managing variations and additional works.
- Overseeing electrical inspection, testing and certification.
- Managing snagging, completion and final documentation handover.
- Supporting the technical standards, compliance and continued development of the electrical department.
You will provide a clear point of responsibility for both Integra and the customer, ensuring projects are delivered safely, professionally, commercially and on programme.
Technical Leadership
Given the seniority of this appointment, we are particularly interested in candidates with strong electrical compliance and technical supervisory experience.
The successful candidate should possess the qualifications, experience and technical competency associated with Electrical Qualified Supervisor responsibilities, providing additional technical capability and resilience within the business.
Previous experience as an Electrical QS or within a similar technical supervisory position would be highly advantageous.
Commercial Accountability
You will report directly to the Managing Director through a structured weekly project and performance meeting, reviewing:
- Project progress and programmes.
- Quoted versus actual costs.
- Labour and resource performance.
- Materials, plant and subcontractor expenditure.
- Variations and commercial performance.
- Forward workload and upcoming quotations.
- Departmental KPIs and targets.
You will be expected to maintain a clear understanding of the operational and commercial position of your projects at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 10 years' industrial electrical experience.
- Recognised electrical qualifications.
- Black ECS Card.
- SMSTS.
- Current BS 7671 / 18th Edition.
- Appropriate Inspection & Testing qualifications, such as City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent.
- Technical competency consistent with Electrical Qualified Supervisor responsibilities.
- Proven electrical project management experience.
- Experience surveying, estimating and quoting electrical works.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical installations and LV distribution.
- Experience managing electrical engineers and subcontractors.
- Strong commercial and customer-facing skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- PRINCE2 Foundation and/or Practitioner.
- Previous Electrical QS experience.
- IOSH Managing Safely – training can be provided.
- Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG or process environments.
- HNC / HND Qualifications
About You
We are looking for someone who takes ownership and delivers.
You should be equally comfortable surveying and quoting a new project, leading engineers on site, discussing requirements with a customer, reviewing project costs with the Managing Director and overseeing the technical completion of electrical works.
You will have the autonomy to manage projects properly and will play an important role in the performance and continued development of Integra's electrical operations.
