Summary
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join our landscaping construction team at The Nurture Group. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of multiple maintenance and construction projects — ensuring cost efficiency, profitability, and full compliance with company and client requirements.

Responsibilities
Pre-Contract
· To Prepare cost plans, feasible studies, and tender documentation.
· Analyse drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities to provide accurate cost estimates.
Procurement & Contracts
· Source, negotiate, and manage subcontractors and suppliers (soft/hard landscaping, irrigation, paving, decking, lighting, etc.).
· Draft and administer subcontract agreements.
· Apply knowledge of JCT, NEC, or bespoke contracts.
Project Financial Management:
· Monitor budgets, cash flow, and forecasts.
· Prepare interim valuations and payment applications.
· Assess variations, change orders, and final accounts.
Risk & Compliance:
· Identify commercial risks and implement mitigation measures.
· Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and sustainability standards.
Stakeholder Management:
· Provide cost reporting to senior management.
· Liaise with project managers, site staff, clients, and consultants.
· Attend site and client meetings as required.
Health, Safety and Hygiene
· Follow correct working practices in use of equipment and materials and adopt safe working practices to safeguard the safety of others as well as oneself.
· Always wear correct PPE, adhering to the company standard as set out in the Employee Handbook
· Report all Near Misses and/or accidents to your line management
· Always maintain a high degree of security, if you are a key holder, whilst working you will be expected to follow correct access procedures to buildings and not infringe any data protection regulations.
Training
· Attend Company/Site induction.
· Attend individual and team, monthly training as directed

Relevant Qualification and Training
(Ideally one or more of the qualifications listed below, or other relevant qualification dependent upon site or contract)
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Chartered status (MRICS) is desirable.
- Proven QS experience, preferably in landscape or external works.
Skills and Experience
- In-depth knowledge of landscape construction methods and materials.
- Strong financial, measurement, and contract administration skills.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving ability.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and cost management software; CAD knowledge is desirable.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- A demonstrable ability to establish and sustain good working relationship within a team environment or the ability and the initiative to work alone
- Holds valid driving licence
- Practical use of MS Office Suite at intermediate level
