Job description
Chhaya Care is looking for a caring and reliable Support Worker to join our team in Harrow. This is a rewarding role supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and physical disabilities to live full, independent, and dignified lives.
We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who speak Gujarati and are confident with cooking, as you'll be supporting individuals with culturally familiar meals and day-to-day living.
What you'll be doing
- Providing personal care and daily living support with dignity and respect
- Preparing and cooking meals, including traditional Gujarati dishes, in line with individual preferences and dietary needs
- Supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and physical disabilities in their homes and the community
- Assisting with medication, mobility, and personal routines
- Encouraging independence, social activities, and community involvement
- Keeping accurate records and communicating with families and the wider care team
What we're looking for
- Fluent Gujarati speaker (essential)
- Confident cook, comfortable preparing Gujarati and other meals
- A warm, patient, and caring nature
- Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, or physical disabilities (desirable, but full training provided)
- Reliable, flexible, and a good team player
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS check required (we can arrange this)
