Glebe Contractors Ltd are looking for experienced grounds maintenance operatives to join our team in a varied role.
The job includes general grounds maintenance and landscaping works at schools, parish councils, woodlands and commercial sites.
We are based in Newent and work in a wide radius. We are looking for someone who is reliable, takes pride in their work, works safely and can turn their hand to a range of jobs.
We are looking for someone who is:
- An experienced operative
- Reliable, hard working and self-motivated

- Happy to work outside in all weathers
- Able to work well as part of team or individually
Pay is £32,760 per year (£14 per hour) depending on experience, plus any overtime worked
Main Duties:
- Completing works to a high standard
- Working safely and effectively as part of a team
- Grass cutting, hedge trimming, weed spraying
- Setting up and overmarking of sports pitches
- Fencing and general landscape work
- We also provide additional works including conservation services so you may have the opportunity to work on these.
- Filling in our tablet system, worksheets, machine check sheets, risk assessments and any other forms included, and reporting to the office at the end of the day.
Required qualifications/experience:
- Full Driving Licence
- PA1 and PA6 spraying tickets
- First Aid + F
- Mower, brushcutter/strimmer and other relevant training
- Experience in grounds maintenance and landscaping
Training can be provided where required, however Driving Licence is a must-have.
We are happy to consider either a full-time employee or self-employed.
