We are looking to appoint a motivated and skilled Carpentry & Joinery professional to join our Construction team, delivering training and assessment to apprentices. This is a fantastic opportunity to pass on your trade knowledge, support learners in the workplace, and help shape the next generation of skilled craftspeople.
Working with apprentices, you will deliver practical and classroom-based training, assess competence in the workplace, and support learners to successfully complete their apprenticeship and progress into sustainable employment. If you are an experienced industry professional looking to move into education, we will support you to achieve relevant teaching and assessing qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging on- and off-the-job training to Carpentry & Joinery apprentices
Assess apprentices against apprenticeship standards in both training and workplace settings
Provide constructive feedback to support progress and achievement
Work closely with employers to monitor apprentice development and contribute to progress reviews
Prepare learning materials and assessment activities in line with awarding body and funding requirements
Support apprentices in preparing for End Point Assessment (EPA)
Maintain a safe, well-organised workshop and learning environment
Contribute to curriculum development, quality improvement and team activities
Essential Criteria
A recognised qualification in Carpentry & Joinery or significant relevant industry experience
Experience of training, coaching or assessing apprentices, or a strong desire to develop these skills
Up-to-date vocational knowledge of carpentry and joinery
GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting equality, diversity and inclusive learning
