We are seeking a motivated and eager Trainee Floor Layer to join our dynamic construction team. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will learn how to lay various types of flooring materials, interpret schematics, and use essential hand and power tools. Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing work surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and ensuring proper surface conditions for flooring installation
- Learn to measure, cut, and fit flooring materials accurately according to project specifications and schematics
- Use hand tools such as hammers, chisels, and screwdrivers to assist in flooring tasks
- Operate power tools safely under supervision to cut, shape, and install flooring components
- Support the team in mixing and applying construction paints or sealants as needed for surface finishing
- Follow safety protocols diligently while handling tools and working on-site
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of flooring projects while maintaining quality standards
Requirements
- Basic construction experience or a strong interest in learning the building trades
- Familiarity with hand tools and willingness to learn their proper use
- Knowledge of carpentry principles is a plus but not required; training will be provided
- Ability to read schematics or technical drawings is advantageous but not mandatory
- Willingness to work on large projects and lift moderate loads
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude toward safety practices
- Be prepared to travel nationally in company vehicles and stay away (Accommodation provided)
- No prior experience necessary; training will be provided for all technical skills required
