Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Hand/Cook to join our team.
This role involves meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts, catering, and delivering excellent service in a fast-paced setting.
Duties
- Preparing and cooking meals according to specified recipes and standards
- Food preparation activities, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all kitchen operations
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean, well-maintained, and properly stored after use
- Assist with catering events and large-scale meal services as required
- Serve food to customers in a courteous and professional manner
- Help with organising stock levels, receiving deliveries, and rotating stock items
- Keep the kitchen environment organised, tidy, and compliant with health regulations
Experience
- Previous experience is essential for this role. We are an extremely busy cafe and looking for someone who is fully flexible, able to work weekends and weekdays.
- Knowledge of cooking techniques and meal preparation methods
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices in a commercial kitchen setting
- Experience in food presentation and serving is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
