We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Youth Support Worker In Charge to work closely with the leader in charge of the centre. The hours will be 6 hours a week ( 2 evenings) or 12 hours a week ( 4 evenings) The successful candidate will lead and oversee youth programmes within our organisation. They will be responsible for coordinating activities, providing mentorship, and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment for young people. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young individuals through engaging support and guidance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise youth activities, ensuring they are engaging, educational, and inclusive.
- Develop and implement programme plans tailored to the needs of young people, including those with special educational needs.
- Provide mentorship and support to young individuals, fostering their personal development and confidence.
- Coordinate with team members to organise events, workshops, and recreational activities.
- Monitor behaviour and intervene when necessary to maintain a safe environment.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, behaviour incidents, and programme outcomes.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external organisations to support the wellbeing of young people.
- Ensure adherence to organisational policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.
Requirements
- OCN NI Level 1 Certificate in Youth Practice or equivalent .
- Experience working with Youth, Childcare, School and Afterschool setting. Minimum of one year experience.
- Experience and knowledge of using all Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other Microsoft tools.
- Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to lead a team effectively and motivate others.
- A commitment to safeguarding practices and promoting positive behaviour among young people.
