Halstock Cabinet Makers is looking for a reliable and organised Dispatch Operative to join our team in South Somerset.
Working within our dispatch department, you'll play an important role in preparing, packaging and dispatching bespoke kitchens, dressing rooms, libraries, and interior joinery for luxury residential projects throughout the UK and overseas.
This role would suit someone with experience in warehousing, dispatch, logistics or a similar hands-on environment who take pride in being organised, working accurately and maintaining high standards.
Working closely with the Dispatch Manager and colleagues across the business, you'll help ensure every item leaves our workshop correctly prepared, protected and ready for delivery. Full training will be provided on our systems, processes and quality standards.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing, packaging and wrapping furniture and project items for dispatch
- Labelling, checking and recording items accurately before they leave site
- Carrying out quality checks to ensure products meet Halstock's standards
- Loading vehicles safely and efficiently
- Supporting stock movements and storage activities
- Assisting with materials, internal deliveries and warehouse organisation
- Working with colleagues across departments to ensure projects are prepared and dispatched on time
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
What we're looking for
- Experience in dispatch, warehousing, logistics, manufacturing or a similar practical environment
- Forklift experience is desirable but not essential
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality standards
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities effectively
- A practical, hands-on approach to work
- The ability to work independently and use initiative when required
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Reliability and commitment to completing work to a high standard
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A professional and respectful approach when working with colleagues
