About the Role:
You will be supporting Professor Tanya Horeck, Director of the Centre for Media, Arts & Creative Technologies (MACT). The role will involve data collection, analysis, administration, bid writing, and collaboration. It will entail working on impactful research projects relating to digital culture, social media platforms, and technology-facilitated gender-based violence (including AI-Facilitated harms) so a good understanding of these areas is important. You will need to be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. A sound knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential, as is the ability to meet deadlines, sometimes under pressure. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable research experience working for a vibrant research centre committed to research excellence and social change. A passion for the research and a desire to make meaningful change are essential.
Ideally with a higher degree, you will have a Degree and demonstrable research and administrative experience and be keen to collaborate on research projects. You will be supporting the lead researcher with day-to-day activities to ensure smooth delivery of ongoing research projects and will need to be enthusiastic about contributing to the planning and development of research projects, including preparation of research applications/bids to external bodies. The role will also involve organisation and running of stakeholder events.
