What you’ll be doing
Working on challenging and multiple projects simultaneously, you will have experience on engineering schemes from pre-planning through to construction, particularly in relation to Sustainable Drainage (SuDS). This can include urban redevelopment, strategic residential, flood alleviation and natural flood management schemes.
Advising clients on planning policy around flood risk and drainage, considering the changing climate and preference for sustainable solutions.
Delivering, supervising and managing (relative to your experience) a number of projects, and supporting the Team Leader or Principal Engineer.
Maintaining good relationships with existing Clients and actively promoting the capability of the Company to potential new Clients.
The role is required to work independently as necessary. It is expected that you will take an interest in yours and others development and learning as well as actively supporting the development of Graduates in the team.
What you’ll bring
2+ years post graduation experience
Knowledge of relevant software packages including Micro Drainage/Causeway Flow, AutoCAD 2D, Civils 3D (ideally)
Drainage strategy production and knowledge of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), experience of working with Lead Local Flood Authorities.
Understanding of Flood Risk Assessments and Nature-based Solutions
Working knowledge of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF)
Have the ability to plan and monitor workloads to achieve project demands
Experience acting in an outward facing capacity as BWB’s representative in dealings with our clients and industry regulators
